Collection: The Presentation of the Virgin in the Temple, 1398 COLLECTION

"The Presentation of the Virgin in the Temple was painted between the years of 1389 to 1399 by an artist named Paolo di Giovanni Fei.

This painting tells the story of when the Blessed Mother was young, and her parents presented her in the Temple, as was the custom.  The image originally was the center panel of an altarpiece for the Chapel of Saint Peter, in Siena.

According to legend, Mary entered the Temple in Jerusalem at the age of 3, and remained until she was 14.  While inside the Temple, (also known as Solomon's Temple), Mary is shown looking at her parents, Anna and Joachim; on the far left.

Its delicate features make this Masterpiece a wonderful design for a child's shirt."
