Collection: The Archangel Gabriel, 1430 COLLECTION

The Renaissance era Masterpiece "The Archangel Gabriel" was painted in the year 1430 by Masolino da Panicale.  He used tempura on a poplar wood panel.  The original is at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. where it is presently not on view.

"This image of Gabriel has soft features. His deliberate and intentional gaze cause us to imagine him appearing to the Virgin Mary saying "...Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.  Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name him Jesus..." Luke 1: 30 - 31

My "The Archangel Gabriel, 1430 Collection" was inspired by this moment in time, captured by the artist Panicale. This collection, while it is most important in our faith, is also a fun collection, where the image of Gabriel is used frequently in a mirrored pattern.  Most of all, I hope it uplifts and inspires a whole new generation of art-lovers, who are able to live with, wear, and enjoy this magnificent masterpiece in their everyday lives."
